Ajay Malik
Ajay Malik was Head of Architecture and Engineering for Google’s worldwide corporate network, and has held executive leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard, Cisco, Qualcomm and Motorola. He holds approximately 110 patents, has founded and exited multiple startups, and studied Computer Science and Technology at IIT Roorkee.
Twice in his career the thing that was supposed to be permanent turned out to be a layer — written by hand until it wasn’t, then emitted by something else while everyone argued that the generated version wasn’t as good. Both times the objection was true when it was made, stayed true for years, and was never quite refuted. The economics moved underneath it instead.
This book is what that pattern looks like when you see it a third time and decide to design for it rather than wait.
